Hello! Tell us about yourself?

Hello! I’m Stephanie, I’m a stand-up comedian and a dancer. I like shaking my bits around and sharing too much information about those bits.

Tell us all about your show!

Rudder is a show that combines dance and comedy. It’s about BODIES – my relationship with my body, the fun you can have with bodies, consent, and how to heal a broken relationship between your mind and your body. But it’s also funny and silly and there’s some Britney Spears, burlesque and a big orange dice.

How did you come up with the name for the show you’re taking to the fringe?

I just wanted something vague so that I wouldn’t have to decide what the show was about before the deadline for submitting a title.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

I love Robyn Perkins and everything she does – so this year Comedy for the Curious and 10,000 Ideas.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe?

This is my 11 th Fringe. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I will not learn. I think eat vegetables and stay hydrated. Also try to get out of the city at least once so you can stare at nature and cry next to some flowers.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe.

This year I’m sleeping in a minibus that I’ve pulled the seats out and put a mattress in the back of. So I wake up in a layby or on the beach, pee in some bushes, brush my teeth by a drain and then head into the big smoke. I’m doing a play at 1pm called Loose Lips which is going to be ace, then my show at 2.50pm. Shower at a friend’s house, try to poop somewhere indoors during the day, do some spots and then back to the ol’ bus homestead to try my damnedest not to get murdered.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

I think try to see something at some point that’s completely new to you and that you wouldn’t normally watch (MAYBE A COMEDY DANCE SHOW BY A NICE LADY WHO LIVES IN A BUS).

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe? I like a macaroni pie from

Piemaker, because it’s carbs mixed with cheese wrapped in carbs with more cheese on top.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

I like people most when they’re in audience form, and you get to meet so many audiences and have fun with them.

Top tips for travelling around the Fringe and getting to shows on time?

People walk very slowly at the Fringe, so to avoid wanting to punch anyone in the back of the head, make sure you give yourself 20 minutes extra for all journeys.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

A kagool, a bag of mini mars bars for yourself and to give as little treats to other people, wellies.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

I suck at it so I pay people who are good at talking to humans.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
