Space Cowboy – Jamiroquai

Today we are heading to the nineties to take a look at a single that was catchy and played a lot on the radio. You may recognise it as it was by a band that was iconic at this time and in this era.

Space Cowboy was a single by the British funk and acid jazz band called Jamiroquai. The single was released on the 26th September 1994. The track was written and produced by the musician Jay Kay and released under the record label of Sony Soho Square. The single is from the bands second studio album The Return of the Space Cowboy which was released in the same year.

There are many different versions of the tracks as there is the original version, the album version and also the house style remix.

The song did reasonably well in the charts – it went into the top 30 in France (22), Iceland (3), Italy (6), Switzerland (28) and the US Dance chart (1). In the United Kingdom it went into the UK singles chart at number 17 and the UK Dance chart at number 11. In the UK the track went certified silver and sold 200,000 copies.
