Taste Of States – This Week – Arby’s Spicy Greek Gyros

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

ARBY’S SPICY GREEK GYRO

Today we are heading over to a fast food chain to discover one of their items on their menu. We haven’t spoken about Arby’s in a while, so I thought it would be fun to revisit.

Arby’s is a fast food restaurant that is located across the United States of America and has more then 3,000 venues, it was founded in 1964 in Ohio and was so popular it just kept getting bigger.

Arby’s Greek Gyro is one of the delicacy’s on its menu. The pita is stuffed with gyro meat, shredded lettuce, red onion, tomato, seasoning and is finished off with gyro sauce to bring it all together. Each gyro is 700 calories and is 44 grams of fat.

There are a lot of mixed reviews about the gyros online but most of them praise it for the flavour but they do question the pita that it is wrapped in as it is more like bread.
