The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – Bilbao, Spain

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

I love short breaks – you get to see a city in a really quick turn around but you also get to embrace it at the same time. I visited Bilbao in a short turn around and sae some great things including this that is in the photograph today.

The Vizcaya Bridge is in the suburbs of Bilbao and was actually right near my hotel. It was very unique and I had never seen anything like it before. It took a while to work out what it actually was and that it was a bridge and not something used for construction purposes.

The Vizcaya is such an interesting piece of construction and it really is incredible, striking and even though I love this photograph it does not give it the justice it deserves. Watching it move was magnificent and even though it is not very fast it it very impressive.

Looking at this photograph, I really like it. I enjoy the grandness of the structure and the dark bold colour of the water against the blue of the sky. It is a photograph that when I look at it, a smile pops cross my face.
