Day 29 – Win A Date With Tad Hamilton

For the last film of the month I wanted to be a bit more ‘on trend’ and write about a film that was released in recent years but then I remembered there was one rom com that I had not written about and I really wanted to because it is a weird sort of comfort blanket and I felt it was wrong to leave it off.

Here is the synposis:

 A small-town girl wins a date with a male celebrity through a contest. When the date goes better than expected, a love triangle forms between the girl, the male celebrity, and the girl’s best friend.

I cannot remember when I first originally saw this film but I know that I used to watch it on rainy days at university, it is a silly concept but I really enjoyed the story about her friend trying to adjust to this really surreal world that he has now been caught up in.

I don’t know why I like this film so much but I think it is because it is a concept that most people wonder what would happen and the way that she works in a Piggly Wiggly and has a normal life really brings Tad back down to a normality he never had before and that is what makes the comedy and makes it very charming.

I find this film a sort of comfort blanket, I have no idea why but I think again it creates an element of hope and the world of seeing people differently. There are some nice parts of this film and it is pure silliness and escapism in one.

Another thing that I really love about this film is the soundtrack there are some really good songs in this film that I have on some playlists as I really like it. the song Shine I had on a playlist for years as I really loved it.

Yes this film is very cheesy and yes I maybe should of written about something more modern but I felt like I had to include this film for nostalgia sake.
