Every day this month we are taking a look at a different rom com everyday to celebrate that it is a leap year in 2024 and valentines day also being in the same month.

Day 13 – When In Rome

I have seen a whole variety of rom coms and a lot of the time in that category you can have these films that are good but incredibly silly and cheesy at the same time. Today we are going to look at one of those films.

Here is the synopsis:

Beth is a young, ambitious New Yorker who is completely unlucky in love. However, on a whirlwind trip to Rome, she impulsively steals some coins from a reputed fountain of love, and is then aggressively pursued by a band of suitors.

I used to spend a lot of time watching trailers and I came across this one on the cinema app that apple computers used to have ( I don’t Apple anymore, is this a thing still? If not it’s a shame). I wanted to see it first because it looked like it could be fun but also due to the fact I loved the music of 3oh!3 and it was the main song in the trailer.

It is a really uplifting and silly comedy that has some fun parts in it but is overall a ridiculous narrative. It is one of those films that is pure escapism and is something I would watch to get lost in fun.

Just like some of Kristen Bell’s films, her husband Dax Shepherd appears and is one of the most random characters.

I have seen this film a few times and you have to be Inna very specific mood to watch it however if you want something a bit different then give this film a try.
