King Of My Castle – Wamdue Project

Today we are heading back to the nineties to have a look at a dance track you may remember if you hear it again as it had a very repetitive lyric in it that would get stuck in your head.

King Of My Castle was released by Wamdue Project on the 24th May 1997. It was produced by Chris Brann and released under the record labels of Eruption, Strictly Rhythm and AM:PM. The single featured the vocals of the deep house singer Gaelle Adisson.

When I was a kid I never really paid attention to the lyrics apart from the main line and it was only today that I discovered more about them whilst researching the song for this article. The lyrics are a reference to Sigmund Freud’s theory of the unconsciousness.

Th3e single did incredibly well around the globe and went into the top 5 in many countries including Austria (5), Denmark (3), Germany (3), Italy (3), Netherlands (2) and the USA (1) to name a few. In the United Kingdom the track became certified gold, went to number 1 and sold over 400,000 copies.
