Welcome the feature where we ask musicians or bands five really tough questions about music! Today I speak to musician Lou Panico who is releasing his debut EP Dunk Tank this Friday! Today we find out a little but more about the musician by asking some tough questions.
What is the hardest lyric you have ever had to write and why?
I wrote a song about my mother’s death and its effect on my family. Still to this day I cannot sing the song without breaking down and crying. So, needless to say, I have yet to record or release this song as it simply hits too close to home. Not sure if I’ll ever be able to perform this song in front of anyone. Only time will tell.
What is the weirdest gift or compliment a fan has given you?
I was given a homemade diorama once. There were handmade figurines of the band members inside a shoebox. I could tell that it took many hours and extreme patience to create. Very cool!
Who is the best band or musician you have had the pleasure to share the stage with?
Oh man! This is so subjective. I have to say I had the most fun performing with Ace Enders of The Early November when he was touring as I CAN MAKE A MESS. I would join Ace on stage and sing harmonies. It was awesome!
Also worth noting that I had the opportunity to tour Australia with Incubus a few years back. That was also epic!
What one of your songs has been the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?
I have a song coming out on my upcoming EP called BIRTHDAY. For some reason, we mess up this certain transition every single time we practice the song. It’s likely very much my fault for making the part too complicated.
Dream Collaboration and why ?
I was fortunate enough to record a record with Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 when I was in a band called SOCRATIC (Drive-Thru Records). My dream collaboration is to do a record with Tom Delonge and Travis Barker so I can say that I collaborated with every member of Blink 182.
