Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Anna Storm

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

My new single, “Clown Tears,” is a dark pop club banger about finding yourself after a toxic relationship. It’s a very deep and raw cut for me, which explores a new facet in my musical career. When you are a loving and empathetic person and your partner takes you for granted in the relationship, it becomes lonelier than even just being single. The person doesn’t value you, but the person basically values nothing– most of the time, the person doesn’t even value themselves.

Regardless of how much you love this person, you have to love yourself more and empower yourself to know that no matter what happens outside yourself, that you are going to be alright.

The “Clown Tears” have a couple of meanings:

1. Wearing a smile to the outside world despite what is going on internally

2. Your partner being a clown/fool for not treating you like the QUEEN you are. I know a lot of men and women can relate to this song, so I wanted to create something relatable and also inspirational to encourage people to LOVE THEMSELVES and not LOSE THEMSELVES in loving another person who doesn’t fully appreciate them.

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

My first single is “Confident” which is featured on Lizzo’s “Watch Out For the Big Grrrls” on Amazon Prime and most recently Bravo’s “The Real Housewives.” When I first released Confident I was nervous because I had never formally released any music before, but it is a track that really captures me as an artist and as a person.

It is about my experiences growing up in a small town and being bullied, but despite that adversity growing into the strong alpha female who I am today. Confident is all about self-empowerment and self-love, and it feels amazing that so many people can relate to the lyrics and the message in this song. Confident has also received over 10 million views on TikTok and someone all the way in Europe did a cover of the song as well– It feels really special to have made impact across social media and TV with my first song!

Your favourite song to play live:

My favorite song to play live is probably “Versace Shade” because it is a club banger and I love to dance! When I perform this song, I have so much fun and really lose myself in the music. The audience is always really receptive to this song and they start dancing as well– its catchiness is infectious! I love making people dance and seeing them happy through my music!

Your most emotional track:

My most emotional track is definitely my newest single  “Clown Tears” as it is my first released song about a relationship. It has really sharp, edgy and emo lyrics that are close to my heart. There’s definitely bitterness in the track as I’m commenting on a toxic relationship and recounting all the times my partner took me for granted, but I’m also letting go of that toxicity and redirecting the love towards myself!

The best lyric you have ever written:

I like a lot of my lyrics, but my favorite one recently has got to be from “Clown Tears:” “I’m amazed by the lies and the trash that you say, the only time you give a sh*ts when I walk away…”— IT HITS! And it hits straight at the heart– a lot of people have been telling me the lyrics in “Clown Tears” really strike them at their core! Blunt, in your face, and honest– people vibe with that!

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

When I walk on stage to do a show, I am in my total and complete element. I get super excited and energized– I am the master of the room and I command anyone in the audience with my presence and performance. I really feel like I own the stage, own the room– and I do! I ALWAYS SLAY! And the audience just loves the energy and confidence that I display!
