Music Memories – This Week – It’s Only Us

The one thing I love about music is that everyone has their own story to tell – the musician, the lyrics, the way the fans decipher them and also the way a song can also create a memory or a meaning to someone. That is what this new article is all about. Each fortnight, we will take a look at a different song and I will take you as a trip down memory lane as to what it means to me. Welcome to Music Memories.

Track: It’s Only Us
Artist: Robbie Williams
Original Release Date: 9th November 1999

There are some songs when I hear them that make me very happy. The song is connected to a very specific memory from when I was a kid.

I was never a fan of football, however I had Fifa 2000, Playstation One game – I cannot remember how I got it but I used to play it a lot. I was never good at this game when I was a kid and had a lot more fun kicking into my own goal.

The one thing I absolutely loved about this game was the soundtrack. It had some really great songs on it and I used to keep it on the title page sometimes just so I could hear the songs.

One of my favourite tracks on the game was Robbie Williams, It’s Only Us. It was so catchy and when it played I used to sing along and dance around to it.

I don’t listen to the song very often but when I do hear it even now, it makes me really happy and always smile to myself. It also makes me want to dance like crazy.
