There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to a new feature that will appear regularly this year in the travel section. Today we are going to kick things off by looking at one of my favourite photos.
If there is one place in the world that I found gave some mind-blowing photographs then it is Olden. I have only been to Norway once and I absolutely love the photographs that I got to take at that time as there was some amazing fjords that just want to keep you taking pictures. Today we are going to talk about a photograph I love as well as the memory that also goes along with it.
Olden was the last stop of Norway when I visited in 2012, we were on a cruise of the country and this was the last stop because one of the other ones got cancelled due to a strike that was happening at the countries ports. It was also the only really rainy day that we had in the time that we were in Norway.
Olden was very different to other places that we had visited in Norway for the fact it felt really remote. We decided to go walking and we ended up exploring lots of random roads to see where they went. Olden was absolutely amazing, it was so rustic and so amazing that it really did take your breath away at just how amazing the nature of Norway is. In the rain it created even more drama.
This photo was taken when we came to the end of the road and became sort of lost, we think we accidentally ended up walking up someones drive which we didn’t mean to it was very difficult to tell that it was as it was so natural and remote looking! I really liked this photograph because of the grand fjords and the wood in the front. I felt it gave it sort of depth and sort of defined the drama of this area.
