Music Memories – This Week – We All Stand Together

The one thing I love about music is that everyone has their own story to tell – the musician, the lyrics, the way the fans decipher them and also the way a song can also create a memory or a meaning to someone. That is what this new article is all about. Each fortnight, we will take a look at a different song and I will take you as a trip down memory lane as to what it means to me. Welcome to Music Memories.

Track: We All Stand Together
Artist: The Frog Chorus & Paul McCartney
Original Release Date: 12th November 1984

I love frogs, I have adored them since I was a toddler and one of my earliest memories was helping put baby frogs back in the pond when they escaped and save them from the birds. It is only when I got older I started to realise where my love for frogs was coming from. The reason why I loved their googly eyes, their silly faces and their unique characters – it was all Paul McCartney’s fault!

Another one of my earliest memories was the film Rupert and the Frog Song, I was born at the end of the eighties but it was a film that I remember watching a lot. I do not know who introduced it to me, I do not know why I was shown it but I remember that I loved the Frog Song.

I remember I used to love it and dance along to it or enjoy it, it was a song that I found magical and even listening back to it now it brings back a sense of magic to me. I don’t know why I loved it so much but I really enjoyed it and I like the ‘bom bom bom’ part of it.
