There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to a new feature that will appear regularly this year in the travel section. Today we are going to kick things off by looking at one of my favourite photos.
Whenever I come across photographs of Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia, I have to pinch myself to remember that I have actually visited there. It was such a unique place that I was able to take some fascinating photographs of it.
I took a lot of photographs in the city because the white buildings with the bright blue doors was so striking that I just wanted to keep taking photographs so that I would end up having a lot of memories of it.
I do not remember taking this photograph but when I look at it, I really like it and the cobbled stairs up the hill and the way that it makes its way gradually to the archway turning this into an alleyway.
I adore the use of blue everywhere – I love the way that some of them are patterned and the way that the glass in the windows mi in with he blue extremely well.
I really enjoy the height in this photograph and the hint of green front he bush seeping through.
