INTERVIEW – A Quick Conversation With: Shark Bait

Welcome to a brand new feature where we ask musicians or bands five really tough questions about music! Today I speak to the band Shark Bait who have recently released the song No Place To Call Home and they have some more songs set to be released very soon! Today we give them some hard questions.

What is the hardest lyric you have ever had to write and why?

It’s a toss-up, it’s always hard to be completely honest and open in lyrics, it leaves me feeling vulnerable. We have a song called ‘Fingers Crossed’ which i poured my soul into and it left me bare to the world. Other times it’s getting that one line to connect two sections you don’t have yet, and it’s the day of recording!

What is the weirdest gift or compliment a fan has given you?

We have this one fan, who comes to loads of show’s, knows all the words to our songs and is after Nik’s shoes. Who knows what for?

Who is the best band or musician you have had the pleasure to share the stage with?

My boys here in Shark Bait! ‘oh ah ah!’

But seriously every musician who’s up on those same stages as us putting the grind in. When you meet like-minded people it’s a gift!

What one of your songs has been the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?

It a little different for each of us, Chris has some insane drum fills that take a lot of practice, Nik has a couple of songs in higher registers that we don’t envy him having to smash out. Any-time Ash has to solo we for sure practice! Or any of the slower songs, you can’t hide mistakes in the speed and distortion!

Dream Collaboration and why ?

The ultimate Collab would be getting to work with any of the guys from PUP they seem like the coolest dudes and rock so hard!
