Forgotten Pop! – This Week – The Wiseguys

Today we look at a band that was around in the nineties. The Wiseguys were a British Electronic duo that was made up of Touche and Regal, the became a band in 1990. In 1994 they released their first EP called Ladies Say Ow! and it lead to them releasing their first singles Nil by Mouth and Too Easy in 1995.

The Wiseguys released their first official album in 1996 and was called Executive Suite. The album did really well and was even noticed welcomed with critical acclaim. The genre of the album was predominantly jazz beats and optimistic hop hop.

In 1997 Regal left the band but that did not stop Touche from producing the second Wiseguys album called The Antidote. The album was the home to their most popular singles including Ooh La La which went in at number 55 on the UK Singles chart but then was featured on a Budweiser advert and then went up to number 2 in the charts. Another song that was from this album was Start The Commotion which peaked at number 47 in the charts.

The Wiseguys broke up in 2001 however lets have a look at some of their songs today.
