Forgotten Pop! – This Week – Heidi Montag

Today we look at a reality television star that was part of the television show The Hills that released an album in 2010 that took a few years to put together. Today we look at the musical career of Heidi Montag.

In 2006, Heidi started to gain a lot of notice in the public eye and so much so that Heidi decided to enter the music industry in 2007. The album and the music took a whole two years to complete and was recorded with producer Steve Morales and songwriter Cathy Dennis.

One of the songs on the album was called Blackout and was written by Taylor Monsem from the band The Pretty Reckless  when she was apparently eight years old. One of the songs got leaked onto the television show On Air with Ryan Seacrest where there was a verse rapped by her boyfriend Spencer Pratt.

In 2008 the promo single Higher was released on iTunes in February 2008 and the song received a lot of negative reviews. She released a few more singles online such as Fashion and One More Drink that didn’t do that well form critics either. It was announced that Heidi had spent nearly a whopping $2 million on the album.

The album Superficial was released in November of 2009 and was released alongside a music video of various clips of her in the media including Miss Universe. The album received a lot of mixed to negative review reviews form various music critics. It debuted in the charts at number 41 and sold around 10000 copies in the first week. So lets have a look at just some of the music that she released.
