Everywhere – Michelle Branch

Today we are going to look at a song that I only re-discovered the other week when it played on a random playlist on Spotify. It was weird re-hearing it after all this time as it is quite a catchy song. It took me a while to remember where I knew it form and it was American Pie 2. So today let’s have a look at a song from the early noughties.

Everywhere was a single released by the American singer and songwriter Michelle Branch on the 10th July 2001. It was written by the musician and musician John Shanks. The song was released under the record label of Maverick and was recorded in the Sunset Sound Henson in California. Everywhere was the debut single and was also taken from the first studio album The Spirit Room that was also released in the same year.

The song did really well in the charts and went into the top 10 in Belgium (2), the Netherlands (5), New Zealand (2) and the US Mainstream Top 40 (5). In the United Kingdom the track went into the charts at the position of number 18.

It is one of those songs that when you hear it, the chorus stays in your head and you cannot stop singing it.
