Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
Our latest release is a song called ‘Like Ghosts’
Your favourite lyric in this song:
It would have to be ‘All this screaming and silence, separation is what we need’. I think this really encapsulates what the song is about
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
I guess at this stage it would be ‘My Best’ – the final song on the EP. It’s one of our oldest ones and we’ve been playing it live for a long time
Your favourite song to play live:
At the moment it’s ‘My One’ – it’s our set opener, full of energy, a crowd-jumper and sets the tone for the rest of the evening. We’ve also just recorded it so expect a release later in a few months
The song that was the longest to write and why?
One of our new ones ‘Burning’ – we just couldn’t get the chorus right. We played it over and over again in loads of different ways and finally it hit.
Your most emotional track:
I would say ‘Like Ghosts’ actually. Full to the brim with emotion. Soft and sad verses paired with fists in the air choruses
Dream collaboration:
Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro. Straight up.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
‘Finally…sound check was 6 hours ago!’
The hardest track to play live:
We write quite simple songs so none of them really! A new one coming out soon is quite high in our registers though.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Telescope, magnifying glass, a map, an eye patch…and downloads of all the Pirates of the Caribbean films.
Describe your fans in three words:
Devoted, enthusiastic, fanatic
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
Firework by Katy Perry
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
More releases, more gigs and more taking on the world
