The comedy festival season is among us with some of the biggest and smallest festivals in the country about to begin in the next few months. As there are so many to choose from and so many different acts to see at them all, here at The Phoenix Remix we want to keep you in the loop and up to date as to which acts you have to be seeing and also what festivals you must be attending.
So, we are going to start of with a favourite amongst Londoners –
Udderbelly Festival 7th April – 17th July
Udderbelly launched on South Bank back in 2009 as a partnership between The Southbank Centre and Underbelly. The upside down purple cow floods the south bank every year for a number of weeks hosting an array of entertainment – everything from comedy to circus and family entertainment. This year, just like any other, is to host some great shows and not new entertainment. Here is some of the shows that you don’t want to be missing out on.

About: A very popular regular show to the Udderbelly makes its return this year preparing for more sell out shows. The show is an experience you won’t forget – sitting as an audience member watching comedy – in complete darkness! A wide array of acts have appeared in this show previously including Kevin Bridges, Sarah Millican, Jon Richardson and Reginald D Hunter.
Frisky and Mannish – CabaRIOT
When: Wednesday 8th June and Wednesday 6th July

About: If you are looking for a different type of comedy that is based around all things musical then this is the comedy duo you must see this year at the Udderbelly. This years show is all about talking about the wrongs in the world and dress them up in lots of glam, glitter and musical melodies! The duo are a festival regular and are going to be something that you have never seen before.
Paul Zerdin: Spongefinger
When: Thursday 14th April, Friday 15th April, Saturday 16th April
Time: 9pm for weekday shows, 7:45pm for Saturday performance

About: Last year was a huge one for Paul Zerdin as he won America’s Got Talent and with his popularity ever growing in the states there is a possibility that he will be harder to see live in the UK so get to this show! This ventriloquist based comedian is set to tickle your rib cage and at the same time fascinate you too.
Spencer Jones: Presents the Herbet in Proper Job
When: Friday 27th May

About: We spoke about him in the last part of the Improv Diaries, (click here to read ) and now it is your chance to see him live. Go and watch the BAFTA Nominee and 2015 New Act Nominee Runner Up in all his glory with all his props. Full of high energy and is the story of a middle aged man who buys loads of stupid things online.

About: If you recognise this face or names it’s probably because he has appeared on a variety of shows such as Almost Royal, Mock the Week, Russell Howards Good News and even Conan O’Brien in the USA! Going from strength to strength in the comedy world, this is one comedian you don’t want to miss.

Austentatious: An improvised Jane Austen Novel
